Just to let you know, some think that the ‘number of the devil’ is 616 as opposed to 666.

There’s no single Hebrew dictionary since words get created all the time.
Judaism has no concept of Satan, so please stop looking for patterns in white noise.

Let’s see. Revelations 13:18. “Here is where wisdom come in: Let the one that has intelligence calculate the number of the wild beast, for it is a man’s number, and it’s number is 666.”
One must have wisdom in order to figure out what is meant here. Previous verses state that some people will have this mark written on their ‘foreheads’ or ‘hands”.
In order to understand, God’s number is 7. The perfect number according to scripture. One less than 7 is therefore imperfect. Times 3 means serious imperfection.
Those people who are seriously wicked let’s say (in mind — forehead or in acts — hand) are claimed by the Beast (beasts are usually governments in Revelations that act under the Dragon (satan) ) and are not written in the ‘Book of Life’ which means no hope for resurrection.
Hope this helped, but take care, this is merely opinion. There are alot of interpretations out there that take this to be literal.

You do realize that the book of Revelation is not in the Jewish Bible, right?
That for Jews the number 666 (or 616, or 888, or any of the other Christological numbers) – is meaningless.
Also, there are as many different Hebrew-English dictionaries, as French-English ones. For copyright reasons, they are all different. There are also multiple translations of the Bible.
The good news is that most big bookstores carry many versions. Feel free to go to any Borders or Barnes and Noble and count words yourself.

First of all, for Boomerang: what you say about Judaism is not true. There IS, in fact, a Satan in Judaism, just we view him in a different way than Christianity does.
Secondly, like some people said, there is no concept of 666 being the devil’s number in Judaism. I’d go count the words right now, but you should know that there are many different versions of dictionaries and all that, so it would not have any religious significance….besides, I figure it would be a waste of time if you do not even give me a reason for why you need this information so bad =/
